IT maturity assessment
Benchmark your infrastructure, applications, cloud, data, security, governance and continuity.
Get a maturity level from 1 to 5 for your IT, scores across seven areas and practical recommendations. It takes 15 multiple-choice questions and about 5 minutes.
You will need
- About 5 minutes
- A general picture of your devices, systems, security and backups
What it covers
- Infrastructure and support – Devices, network and who looks after them.
- Business applications – Whether your software fits the way you work and systems talk to each other.
- Cloud and remote work – How you use cloud services and whether people can work securely from anywhere.
- Data and reporting – Where your files live, who can access them and whether data informs decisions.
- Cyber security – Sign-in, updates, protection and staff awareness: the basics that stop most attacks.
- IT governance and planning – Policies, a plan and knowing what technology you have and pay for.
- Backup and continuity – Whether you could recover from data loss, ransomware or an outage.
Result levels
- Level 1: Initial (0–19): IT is handled ad hoc and depends on individuals. The business is exposed to outages, data loss and cyber attacks. Focus on the security and backup basics first.
- Level 2: Developing (20–39): Some good practice is in place, but it is inconsistent and mostly reactive. Fix the priority gaps and put basic support and policies in place.
- Level 3: Defined (40–59): Core IT is in place and mostly working. The next step is planning, consistency and testing that controls such as backups actually work.
- Level 4: Managed (60–79): IT is planned, managed and measured. Keep improving security, integration and continuity, and review them regularly.
- Level 5: Optimised (80–100): IT is a well-run part of the business and supports its goals. Keep reviewing, testing and improving as the business and threats change.
