You will need

  • About 5 minutes
  • A general picture of how your business uses data, systems and AI today

What it covers

  • Strategy and leadership – Whether AI is tied to business goals, with support and budget behind it.
  • Data foundations – Whether your information is digital, accurate and easy to get at. AI is only as good as the data behind it.
  • Processes and automation – Whether work is documented and measured well enough to automate or improve with AI.
  • People and skills – Whether your team has the confidence, skills and willingness to use AI well.
  • Governance and risk – Whether AI use is safe: clear rules, protected data and human checks on what AI produces.

Result levels

  • Beginning (0–24): AI is not yet part of how the business works. Start by getting your information and processes in order and picking one practical use case.
  • Exploring (25–49): You have interest and some early use, but foundations such as data, policy and skills need work before AI can deliver reliably.
  • Developing (50–74): You have solid foundations and are ready for well-chosen pilots with clear measures of success.
  • Advanced (75–100): AI is well supported across strategy, data, people and governance. Focus on scaling what works and managing risk as use grows.
